Analyzing Sound in Misfits Presentation Evaluation

Overall I was happy with how mine and Lucy's presentation went. It helped that we both had personal interest in the programme we chose which was Misfits so we were able to enjoy it more and have a better understanding of it. It was easy to gather information about the series as it is very popular and recent. I think what helped the presentation go well was the fact that me and Lucy work well together and so we were good at communicating with each other and gathering information for the power point. I also feel we chose a very good clip for the presentation as it had many different types of sounds and everyone in class enjoyed the clip we showed.

I think if we had to do the presentation again, I would have gone into more detail about why the sounds were used at that point in the clip and what affect they had on the scene. But I would not have changed anything else as overall I was happy with my clip and the information we were able to gather about it.

We definitely made good use of our glossaries as it helped us identify what each sound meant and what categories they came under for example Diegetic and Non-Diegetic. I felt that using our glossaries also helped us to remember what everything meant such as sound bridges and ambient. I now feel confident with remembering what they all mean without having to look at our glossaries.

I have learnt from our presentation that there is a lot more to sound in film and television than you think. I’ve learnt it all comes under different categories and how sound is crucial in producing a mood and tone in a scene.
